The Colony

The original Colony Apartments were built in the early 1970s and covered the 27-acre site at the corner of Colony and Sharon Roads, now in the center of the affluent Charlotte neighborhood, South Park. The principal developer has owned the land for 45 years and has been plotting the redevelopment of the site for well over a decade.  The overall master plan boasts 990 apartments, 300,000 sf of retail anchored by a major grocer, 250,000 sf of office, and a 225-room hotel.  Various delays including the pandemic pushed back the start of the project for years. Like most projects, the team was forced to pivot to make the project viable.  With the uncertainty of retail, the first phase of multi-family moved up the timeline.  In the summer of 2022, the 350-unit multi-family apartment building was delivered as part of the reimagined, state-of-the-art, mixed-use community.

With over 18,000 sf of amenity space, the property boasts one of the largest resident-focused footprints in the Charlotte area. A hospitality-like concierge desk welcomes guests into the leasing lobby. Following through the quaint adjacent courtyard, the clubhouse features abundant amenities and spaces for residents, including coworking spaces, lounges, a full demo kitchen, private dining, multiple game rooms, fitness, spa, and a resort-style pool & outdoor lounges. Atop, a roof terrace lounge and patio overlook the up-and-coming developments of The Colony community.

The design concept embraces the essence of timeless interiors, crafting a space that bridges classic elements with modern touches, to create a truly memorable interior. The incorporation of rich textures, refined palettes, and carefully curated furnishings, the concept redefines classic elegance, while feeling comfortable and inviting.  From exquisite, hand-selected quartzite countertops to intricately designed walnut wall panels, every surface showcases a commitment to timeless elegance.
