Project Details

Tasked by the client to provide an aggressive response to the surrounding context, the project takes cues from a proud, eclectic neighborhood while addressing the realities of a largely residential project in an atypical residential setting. The small site, its unusual shape, and the adjacent property uses create a multitude of challenges to incorporate a marketable mix of residential and office lofts along with their associated parking. This urban infill mixed use project is sited along an edge of the historic Plaza-Midwood neighborhood and is energized by the diverse nature of its neighborhood and the extremes of the immediate site context. The simple material palette of corrugated and standing seam metal siding along with normal concrete masonry are intended to meet the context with a bold, but cost-effective aesthetic solution capped by a knife-edge prow of terraces.
